Chihiro Murakami
Coordinator Art Director Designer
Born in Osaka, Japan 1970.
Studied Graphic Design at Musashino Art University, Tokyo (1989 - 1993).
Worked as a graphic designer on both commercial and public communication projects for leading Japanese design companies, GK graphics (1993 - 1994) and Nippon Design Center Inc. (1994 - 2001).
Involved in the organization and production of exhibition design, spatial graphics, packaging, promotion graphics, branding and research projects.
Moved to the UK for study in 2002.
Awarded Diploma from Goldsmiths College, University of London (2003) and
MA from Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London (2005).
Joined Japan EXPO project, collaborating with Land Design Studio and
produced pavilion logo and space graphics for the UK Pavilion.
(awarded "Best in Book" at the Creative Review Annual 2006).
Started Birds in 2006.
Involved in several collaborative projects with national and international creators.
Also writes freelance for a number of online and printed publications.
Part-time lecturer in Design Informatics, Musashino Art University, Tokyo (2007~)
